Churubusco track preps for NECC finals

CHURUBUSCO — Churubusco’s boys and girls track teams are preparing for the Northeast Corner Conference finals meet Friday in Lakeland.

The Eagles hosted the preliminary meet Tuesday night in Churubusco.

The Monk sisters, Heather and Katie, are leading the shot put with first- and third-place rankings, respectively.

In the boys discus, Austin McClure is seeded first with a substantial 14-foot lead over his closest opponent.

Alex Zolman sits in second in the long jump with a leap of 20-feet 3.5-inches.

The 3200-meter relay team of Joel Fehring, Connor Hogeston, Davon Geiger and Joe Zumbrun is ranked fourth.

Zach Adams and Cory Miller are seeded seventh and ninth, respectively, in the pole vault.

The ’Busco girls 3200-meter relay team of Rachel Fehring, Torry Harris, Brittany McKinney and Haleigh Gross is in second.

The NECC finals meet is set to begin at 4:30 p.m.
