Churubusco’s boys basketball team played its final game of the season Friday night, falling to Woodlan by three points.

BERNE — Despite a fourth-quarter rally, Churubusco’s boys basketball team ended its season with a loss in the sectional semi-final Friday night against Woodlan at South Adams.
After a long bus ride, the Eagles were off to a sluggish start, trailing 19-8 at the end of the first quarter, and 30-16 at halftime.
Churubusco played a more competitive third quarter, outscoring Woodlan 18-17 to make the score 47-34 going into the final period.
In the last eight minutes, the Eagles nearly doubled their score, tacking on 25 points while holding Woodlan to 15.
But Woodlan’s free throws were too much for ’Busco, and the Eagles fell by a 3-point margin.
Twenty-one of Woodlan’s points came from the charity stripe, while the Eagles only had three free throws.
T.J. Campbell led Churubusco with 15 points, followed by Luke Lillmars and Alex Turnbow with 12 apiece.
Blake Gross led the team in assists with three, and Campbell, Lillmars and Beau Barkley each had a steal. The Eagles finish the season 6-16.
