Columbia City’s United States Postal Service carriers will participate in The National Association of Letter Carriers Stamp Out Hung Food Drive Saturday, along with communities across the nation, as well as Puerto Rico, Guam, and U.S. Virgin Islands.
It is the 22nd anniversary of America’s largest single day of giving.
According to the Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive, 49 million Americans, 1 in 6, are unsure where their next meal is coming from, 16 million children suffer from hunger’s impacts, and nearly 5 million seniors age 60 and over are food insecure.
All of the items will get distributed to local families.
To donate, leave non-perishable food items in a bag next to the mailbox by Saturday.
