Carey M. Maggert Sr, 62, passed away Thursday, May 9, 2013, at Dupont Hospital in Fort Wayne.
Born in Wolf Lake, Carey was a self employed truck driver. He was a NASCAR fan who enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Surviving relatives include his wife, Dianna Maggert of Fort Wayne; sons, Jimmy M. (Sandy) Maggert of Columbia City, Robert A. (Keiley) Maggert of Columbia City and Carey M. Maggert Jr. of California; daughters, Jamie L. (Shawn) Roesler of Columbia City, Courtney M. Maggert of Fort Wayne and Ivy R. (Bobby) Maggert of Kendallville; sister, Linda (Gordon) Rasor of Fort Wayne; seven grandchildren and step-father, Irving Henry of Fort Wayne.
Carey was preceded in death by his parents, Wilbur and Elsie Maggert; son, Wilbur S. Maggert; sister, Diane Martin and brother, Robert Maggert.
Funeral service is 2 p.m. Tuesday at D.O. McComb and Sons Pine Valley Park Funeral Home, 1320 E. Dupont Rd. with calling one hour prior.
