CHURUBUSCO — Churubusco’s volleyball team rallied in game four to down visiting Garrett for its first win of the season Thursday.

The Lady Eagles (1-1), took the lead, 2-0. Victory was in sight in game three, with ‘Busco holding a 24-21 advantage.

Garrett then came back, running off five consecutive points to steal game 3, 26-24.

Not wanting the same trend to repeat in game four, Churubusco served aggressively, taking an 8-1 edge and not relinquishing the lead for the remainder of the match.

“We’ve talked about maturity,” said Lady Eagle Head Volleyball Coach Trinda Goings. “We’d rather just close it out in game three, but I’m very proud of the fact that we didn’t just run and hide and let them back in the fourth game. We kept our composure.”

Alicia Farner served the Lady Eagles out to an 8-1 lead, getting six straight points during her time serving.
