CHURUBUSCO â€” Unlike Saturdayâ€™s close battle at Churubuscoâ€™s track invitational â€” when Whitko topped the Lady Eagles by a close margin â€” â€™Buscoâ€™s softball team beat the Lady â€™Cats by a definitive 13-3 score.
Churubusco scored seven runs in the fourth inning to cut the game short, ending it by the 10-run rule in five frames.
The Lady Eagles tallied 13 hits to Whitkoâ€™s three, but the opening innings werenâ€™t so lopsided.
Churubusco scored its first run in the bottom of the first inning, but Whitko retaliated with a run of its own in the top of the second to tie the score.
The Lady Eagles began to pull away in their next turn at-bat, scoring three runs and taking a 4-1 lead.
