Burnworth swimmers break records

COLUMBIA CITY— A total of 14 records were broken by Burnworth Pool swimmers this summer.

Coached by Pat Willliams, the team saw six relay records and eight individual records fall.

New medley relay records were set by three teams. Sophia Hatcher, Mykaela Crowell, Shauna Jo Young and Lauren Liston set the new record for 11-and 12-year-old girls at 2:27.05.

Charlie Varga, Aaron Fix, Ryan Devito and Telly Varga set the new record for the 11 and 12-year-old boys in the medley relay with a mark of 2:17.45.

Jared Mertz, Nathan Koch, Robby Owen and Shane Bufkin set the new medley relay record for boys 15 and over by clocking a 2:10.53.

Young, Liston, Hatcher and Crowell also set a new 11-and 12-year-old girl record in freestyle relay.
