Brent William Bartol, 43, of Columbia City, died unexpectedly at 2:45 p.m., Friday, May 20, 2011 at Parkview Whitley Hospital Emergency Room, Columbia City. Born May 5, 1968, he was a son of William C. and Nancy A. (Stoll) Bartol.
Born in Fort Wayne, he graduated from Snider High School with the Class of 1987. He attended Ivy Tech Community College where he studied computer science. He worked as a service technician and technician manager for office equipment. He attended Columbia City United Methodist Church and was a member of the National Rifle Association.
He is survived by his mother, Nancy A. Bartol of Fort Wayne; father, William C. Bartol of Warsaw; fiancÃ©e, Jennifer York of Columbia City; sisters, Barbara Gonterman and Karen Anderson, both of Fort Wayne; sons, Brandon Bartol of Fort Wayne and Christopher Bartol of Columbia City; step-daughters, Leah and Kayla York of Columbia City; grandmother, Ruth Stoll of Fort Wayne; and mother-in-law, Kathy Klein of Columbia City.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Suzanne Bartol; grandmother, Margaret Bartol and grandfather, Edgar Stoll.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, May 24, 2011 at DeMoney-Grimes Countryside Park Funeral Home, 600 Countryside Drive, Columbia City. Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with calling one hour prior. Burial will be at Greenlawn Memorial Park, Fort Wayne.
