Beatrice Linvill, 98

Beatrice V. Linvill, 98, a lifelong resident of Whitley County, died at 7:05 p.m. Monday, July 1, 2013, at Parkview Oaks where she had been a resident since June 11.
She was born Sept. 6, 1914, in Jefferson Township, a daughter of Earl S. and Laura E. (Lower) Kaufman.
She graduated from Jefferson Center High School and was the last living member of the Class of 1932.
On June 12, 1938, she was united in marriage to Lawrence F. Linvill. They made their home in Smith Township. Mr. Linvill died April 1, 1972. In 2000, Beatrice moved into Columbia City.
A homemaker, she was a member of Columbia City United Methodist Church since 1940, and actively involved in the women’s group including sewing projects.
Surviving relatives include three children, Dale (Nancy) Linvill of Clemson S.C., Johanna Linvill of Fort Wayne and Linda (Danny) Worrick of Columbia City; eight grandchildren, Colonel Brian Linvill, Christopher Worrick, Jennifer Scott, Annette Minthorn, Darren Linvill, Nathaniel Worrick, Jessica Jones and Phillip Worrick; her great pride and joy, 11 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Charleene Heintzelman of Columbia City.
The funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Smith & Sons Funeral Home, Columbia City. The burial will be in Blue River Cemetery. The visitation will be from 2 to 6 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
