BACK TO SCHOOL: Classes will resume soon after short break

August 2, 2013

COLUMBIA CITY — For some students, it might feel like summer has just started.

Despite those potential thoughts, classes will be beginning for Whitley County schools later this month.

Whitley County Consolidated Schools (WCCS) will have its first day of classes Tuesday, Aug. 13. Whitko begins Wednesday, Aug. 14 and Smith-Green Community Schools (SGCS) will commence Friday, Aug. 16.

If students are thinking their summer break is shrinking, they might be correct. WCCS held its last day of school June 10. Smith-Green’s was Wednesday, June 5 and Whitko’s was May 28.
