Adams charged with probation violation

December 27, 2013

COLUMBIA CITY — A man who was just placed on probation in September is alleged to have violated that term recently.

Anthony A. Adams, 35, of Churubusco, was sentenced in 2009 to serve 16 years for dealing in methamphetamine and other drug charges.

He was sentenced to the Indiana Department of Corrections in 2009. His sentence was modified in 2012 to the Whitley County Jail.

In September, based on a good report from the work release facility, he was placed on probation.

His alleged probation violation came in November, when he was arrested in Noble County for possession of methamphetamine and other charges.

Adams was ordered to return to court Feb. 10, 2014, at 9 a.m.

Before his release in September, Adams was the head trustee for the work release facility.

He said in a letter to Judge James Heuer that he enjoyed mentoring younger people and sharing with kids the dangers of drugs.
