Accident impedes traffic on U.S. 30

February 20, 2014

COLUMBIA CITY — Traffic was backed up for several miles Wednesday night after two tractor-trailers collided at the intersection of U.S. 30 and County Road 300 East.

Both semis were totaled and only one driver received minor injuries in the crash, but Whitley County’s Hazmat, along with two fire departments, spent 4.5 hours cleaning up the scene after fluids leaked onto U.S. 30.

The westbound lane of U.S. 30 was shut down while crews worked to clean up the crash.
