Absentee ballots may be cast beginning Tuesday, April 8, at the Voter Registration Office at the Whitley County Courthouse, 101 W. Van Buren St., Room 18, Columbia City.

A photo identification is required. A person does not need a reason to vote early.

Two Saturdays will also have voting hours: April 26 and May 3. The hours for those dates are 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The last day for a person to register to vote for the primary is Monday, April 7. Early voting ends May 5 at noon. The primary election day is May 6.

Primary elections determine the nominee for each party before the general election. Individuals that wish to vote in the primary must register with a political party.
