Above-freezing temps expected today

January 10, 2014

COLUMBIA CITY — Forecasters have predicted above-freezing temperatures today, and schools are expected to be back in session after a nearly three-week long break.

The meltdown of Whitley County's 16.2 inches of snow has begun, as temperatures are expected to stay above freezing for the next four days.

The melting process is expected to bring rain and fog to the area, and officials are preparing for potential flooding.

Whitko Community Schools were back in service Thursday, while Smith-Green and Whitley County Consolidated Schools remained closed.

Today (Friday, January 10) Whitko is operating on its normal schedule. SGCS and WCCS are closed.
