Editor’s note: All three Whitley County high school principals were asked to nominate three students who they deemed up and coming leaders.
Each student was asked a series of questions and will be highlighted during the next week. One student will be selected by The Post & Mail as the overall Leaders of Tomorrow.
CHURUBUSCO — Colton Geiger is a senior at Churubusco Junior-Senior High School and The Post & Mail’s pick as runner up in the Leaders of Tomorrow search.
Q: What activities are you involved in at school or within the community?
A: “In the past, I have been active in Spanish Club, Cross Country, and Junior Leaders. Currently, I am involved with FFA, 4-H, Whitley County Youth Leadership, Leadership Whitley County, Gifted and Talented, and National Honor Society. Being a part of the District III FFA and serving as their president in the past year as been one of the most rewarding experiences I have ever had.”
Q: What groups or organizations have you volunteered with?
A: “The organizations I have done volunteer work through would include 4-H, FFA and Whitley County Youth Leadership. Some ways I have completed volunteer work would be participating in the United Way’s Day of Caring, cleaning up the Churubusco Day Care playground, helping with the Trick-or-Trunk at Churubusco, and painting the barns at the Whitley County Fairgrounds.”
