Gary Lynn Beal, 61, of rural Columbia City, died at 11:36 a.m. Saturday, May 28, 2011 at Parkview Main Hospital, Fort Wayne.
He was born April 7, 1950 in Hudson, Mich., a son of the late Clarence L. and Eva (Hilbourn) Beal.
Survivors include his wife, Debbie; two daughters, Robin Trudeau and Billie Jo Beal; a son, Kelby Beal; two brothers, George Beal and Wayne Beal; and three sisters, Connie Strouse, Gloria Miller and Clarice Sheldon.
Gregory D. Taylor, 49, passed away 10:48 a.m. May 29, 2011 at Lutheran Hospital.
He was born April 30, 1962 to David V. and Joan (Marquart) Taylor.
Survivors include his parents; wife, Robin (Perry); daughters, Diana Rinehart and Amber Rae DeRaps; stepson, Doug Petitt; and stepdaughter, Amber Lynn Petitt; a brother, Tim Taylor; and two sisters, Mary Ayers and Julie Larkey.
The family will receive friends from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Sheets & Childs Funeral Home, Churubusco. No services are planned.
Edward A. Whitacre Sr., 63, of Big Lake, died at 7:28 p.m. Thursday, May 26, 2011 at Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne.
He was born April 13, 1948 in St. Charles County, Mo., a son of Ollis D. and Katherine M. (Farmer) Whitacre.
He is survived by his wife, Tammy; father, Ollis Whitacre; children, Rob Whitacre, Kim Whitacre, Eddie Whitacre, Michael Whitacre and Sacha Whitacre; and a sister, Cindy Whitacre.
Visitation was 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at Smith & Sons Funeral Home, Columbia City. A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. today at Thorn Cemetery, Ormas.
Belinda Sue (Bryant) Beiswanger, 55, of Kendallville went on to heaven from her home Thursday, May 26, 2011, after an eight month battle with cancer.
Mary Elizabeth Fletcher, 82, of Warsaw, died at 3:14 p.m. Thursday, May 26, 2011 at her residence.
She was born in Dixon, Ohio, Feb. 16, 1929 to Loyd and Virga (Zeigler) Anderson. She was married May 6, 1950 to George Marion Fletcher, who survives.
She was a resident of Warsaw for the past 10 years, moving from Columbia City. She was a homemaker and attended Trinity United Methodist Church of Warsaw and St. Matthews United Methodist Church of Columbia City.
Edward Arnold Hammons, 58, of Columbia City, passed away at 7:47 p.m. Thursday, May 26, 2011 at Lutheran Hospital of Indiana, Fort Wayne. Born Dec. 14, 1952 in Ossian, he was a son of Harold L. and Betty Jane (Spitler) Hammons.
A former resident of Fort Wayne where he graduated from North Side High School, he moved to Columbia City in 1972. He served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. On June 11, 1975 he married Cheryl Ann Brandom in Whitley County. He worked at Briggs Fertilizer Plant in the maintenance department.
Phyllis J. Loughner, 87, of Ligonier, passed away at 6:46 a.m. Thursday, May 19, 2011 at Avalon Village Nursing Home in Ligonier. She was born Aug. 3, 1923 to Edgar and Mildred (Babcock) Martin in Elkhart County.
She is survived by a son, Steve Troup of Ward, Ark. and a sister, Juanita Haines.
She was laid to rest in Marion National Cemetery in Marion.

Deborah Jo Moore, 59, of Columbia City, died at 12:20 a.m. Tuesday, May 24, 2011 at Lutheran Hospital of Indiana, Fort Wayne. Born April 26, 1952 in Kendallville, she was a daughter of the late Elmer and Janice (Harp) Larson.
She graduated from East Noble High School with the Class of 1970. She married Dennis Moore at Faith UMC Kendallville in 1972. She was a licensed appraiser and owned her own business, Moore Appraisals. She was a member of Columbia City United Methodist Church, where she headed up the mid-week meal ministry.
Ruth Rozelma Imler, 91, of Sebring, Fla, passed away Sunday, May 22, 2011, at her home. She was born Jan. 29, 1920, to Alfred W. and Ethel M. (Gripe) Kyler in Pierceton, and had been a resident of Sebring since 1987, coming from Columbia City. She was a homemaker and enjoyed fishing, gardening and being outdoors. She also enjoyed playing cards with her friends and family.
She is survived by her daughters, Judy (Harold) Fosnaugh of Warsaw, Rebecca Imler of Sebring and Diane Imler of Sebring; a son, Dan Imler of Albion; and sister, Ruby Hossler of Warsaw.
Mary A. Rice, 88, of Columbia City, died at 3:40 a.m. Monday, May 23, 2011 at Millers Merry Manor.
She was born May 6, 1923 in Fort Wayne, a daughter of the late Edward and Edna (Lehman) Baker. She spent her formative years in Fort Wayne. She attended Central High School.
On Feb. 11, 1945 she was united in marriage to Merlin A. Rice. Mr. Rice died March 16, 2003.
