Dorothy E. Londt, 84, a lifelong resident of Noble County, died at 10:25 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 14, 2010.
She was born Sept. 16, 1925 in Noble Township, Noble County a daughter of Hayes and Ruth L. (Snyder) Walker. She graduated from Wolf Lake High School.
On Feb. 20, 1944 she was united in marriage to Howard E. Londt. They made their home in Texas until 1945 when she returned to Noble County to reside while Howard served in the U.S. Army Infantry overseas. Following World War II, they made their home in the Wolf Lake community and began farming. Mr. Londt died Aug. 17, 2000.
Gerald â€śJayâ€ť R. Imbody, 49, of Payne, Ohio passed away at 2:45 p.m. Friday, Sept. 10, 2010 at the home of his mother. Born May 7, 1961 in Fort Wayne, he was a son of Gerald and Gloria (Juillerat) Imbody.
Jeanice C. Graves, 84, of rural Columbia City, died at 12:44 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 12, 2010 at the Hospice Home, Fort Wayne where she was admitted July 28.
She was born Aug. 22, 1926 in Columbia City, a daughter of Joe and Freeda I. (Decker) Sharpe. She graduated from Columbia City High School and Ravenscroft Beauty College.
On June 4, 1946 she was united in marriage to Norman William Graves. They made their home in Columbia City, Syracuse and later Roanoke for 20 years before moving to their home south of Columbia City in 1986.
John T. Cowen, 83, a resident of Columbia City, died at 2:48 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 11, 2010 in Parkview Hospital, Fort Wayne.
He was born Sept. 18, 1926 in Fort Wayne, a son of Theodore Cowen and Ilene Snyder. His formative years were spent in Columbia City where he was raised by foster parents, Purl and Wilma Schoeff. After graduating from Columbia City High School, he enlisted in the U. S. Air Force and served during W. W. II.
Irene R. Rust, 85, of Fort Wayne passed away Sept. 11, 2010.Â She was born Sept. 15, 1924 to the late Charley and Hazel (Dennis) Robison.Â She retired from Sears after 25 years of service.Â She was a member of the Nine Mile United Methodist Church, Allen Co. Farm Bureau, and Allen Co. Extension Home Maker Club.Â She enjoyed quilting, sewing, gardening, and reading.Â
Surviving family include her children, Gale (Martha) Rust of Roanoke, James (Teresa) Rust of Whitley Co., Nancy (Rick) Bodeker of Avilla, four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.Â
David Henry Hawn, 71, of Columbia City, passed away suddenly at 3:20 p.m. at his residence Saturday, Sept. 11, 2010. Born July 28, 1939 in Fort Wayne, he was a son of Charles A. and Florence A. (Sievers) Hawn.
Keith R. Bower, 54, passed away unexpectedly at 7:56 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 9, 2010 in Warsaw while working. Born in Kosciusko County Feb. 24, 1956, he was a son of Lawrence and Mary (Walters) Bower.
He graduated from Warsaw High School with the Class of 1974. Since 1975, he has been employed by R.R. Donnelley & Sons, Warsaw, and he recently began work at Wal-Mart in Columbia City. He married Candy L. Gamble April 27, 1991 at Columbia City United Methodist Church. In his spare time, he enjoyed playing golf.
Leland William â€śBillâ€ť Ginger, 75, of Syracuse, passed away at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 9, 2010 at Millers Merry Manor in Syracuse. He was born July 21, 1935 in Columbia City, to Kenneth and Jessie (Lehman) Ginger.
He served for 27 years in the United States Army.
He is survived by his wife, Milly Ginger; three daughters, Teresa and Claudia; a son, Kevin Ginger; one stepdaughter, Beth Woods; two stepsons, Steve Savage and Joe Savage; two sisters, Sharon Ordatand Kay Carter.
Beatrice Jennie Morgan, 83, of Columbia City, went to walk with the Lord Friday, Sept. 10, 2010. Born Nov. 24, 1926 in Fort Wayne, she was a daughter of Ralph I. and Mary W. (Bohnke) Parker.
She graduated from Elmhurst High School, Fort Wayne, with the Class of 1944. On Aug. 17, 1974, she married Harold Morgan in Columbia City. A Columbia City resident her entire adult life, she was a homemaker and member of Zion Lutheran Church where she was an active member of the Ladies Aid. Her hobbies included painting, drawing, reading the Bible and she loved the outdoors.
Myrna Jane Brown-Yancey, 69, of Columbia City, died at 1:47 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 8, 2010 at Parkview Hospital, Fort Wayne. Born Sept. 23, 1940, she was a daughter of Lee Arthur and Ethel (Weeks) Brown.
Survivors include six daughters, Nila Leckrone-Born, Lila Leckrone-Gagnon, Debra Brown, Mary Brown-Coe and twins, Amy and Angie; two brothers, Gale Brown and Cleo Brown; sisters, Bonnie Brown-Knetter and Sandra Brown-Watkins.
