Jessie H. Sutton, 84, of Portland, passed away at 12:50 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 30, 2012, at the Jay County Hospital in Portland. She was born Tuesday, April 3, 1928, in Hartford City.
Surviving relatives include two sons, a daughter, two sisters, a brother, nine grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held at Walker & Glancy Funeral Home, 109 W. Windsor St., Montpelier Tuesday from 2 to 7 p.m. and one hour prior to the service Wednesday.
L. M. â€śLeeâ€ť Kilgore, 97, of Columbia City, died at 12:10 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 30, 2012, at Millerâ€™s Merry Manor where she had been a resident since August.
She was born Oct. 4, 1915, in Fort Wayne, a daughter of William H. and Mary Ellen (Doolittle) Radke. Her formative years were spent in Fort Wayne where she attended school.
On Sept. 25, 1947, she and Woodward â€śWoodyâ€ť Kilgore eloped to Indianapolis. They did not reveal their marriage until they found a place to live several weeks later. Mr. Kilgore died Nov. 16, 1975.
George Lewis Hontz, 76, of Ligonier, passed away at 12:30 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 26, 2012, with his family by his side.
He was born on Dec. 24, 1936 in Warsaw, to Ralph and Lillie (Tom) Hontz. He married Linda Murphy June 10, 1972.
Surviving relatives include his wife, Linda of Ligonier; son, Terry (Donna) Hontz of Ligonier; sister, Darlene (Sonny) Myers of Columbia City and a grandpuppy, Ace, whom he loved very much.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Lillie Hontz; two brothers, Curtis and Tom Hontz and his grandparents.
Luella M. Esterline, 97, of Jefferson Township, died at 1:38 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 29, 2012, at Renaissance Village where she had been a resident since June 2011.
She was born Jan. 21, 1915, in Berne, a daughter of Peter John and Della Barbara (Kuehm) Miller. Her family resided on Liberty Mills Road and she attended Aboite Center School.
Dian Ruth Wrightsman, 59, of rural South Whitley, died at 2:56 a.m. Friday, Dec. 28, 2012, at Saint Johnâ€™s Hospital, Anderson, where she was admitted Christmas Day while visiting family. She had been suffering from cancer.
She was born Oct. 23, 1953, in South Bend, the only child of James William and Evelyn (McClellan) Moore.Her formative years were spent in Albuquerque, N.M. and Daytona Beach, Fla. The family then returned to the Jimtown area.
Elsa Marie Rodriguez-Kahn, 50, of Fort Wayne, was called home after a courageous battle with cancer Wednesday, Dec. 26, 2012, at home with her family by her side. She was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church.
She worked at G.M. in the human resources department as a benefits representative.

Christian James Yahr, infant son of Vicar Karl and Andrea Pfleghaar Yahr, died Sunday, Dec. 23, 2012, at Childrenâ€™s Mercy Hospital in Kansas City, Mo. Christian was born Oct. 11, 2012, in Kansas City.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his sisters, Theresa, Melissa and Samantha, all of Columbia City; his grandmothers, Alice Pfleghaar of Jordan, Minn. and Janice Yahr of Daytona Beach Fla.; his aunts, Sara Pfleghaar of Shakopee, Minn. and Kim (Phil) Cordova of North Platte Neb. and several cousins. Charles E. Burelison, 81, of Columbia City, passed away at 4:50 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 26, 2012, at his home. Born April 20, 1931, in Eaton, he was the son of Elmer Virgil â€śJackâ€ť and Lillian Esther (Mumaugh) Burelison.
He attended Northside High School, Fort Wayne and served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. On July 14, 1951, he married Barbara A. Middleton at Concordia Lutheran Church, Fort Wayne and they have always lived in Whitley County. For 35 years he worked at Dana Corporation, Churubusco.
Shelley S. Zawacki-Boggess, 51, of Columbia City, passed away at 4:38 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 19, 2012, at her home. Born Nov. 10, 1961, in Whitley County, she was the daughter of Bill L. Maloney and Marilyn R. (Yeatts) Maloney-Schafer.
Born and raised in the Churubusco area, she moved to Chicago in 1985 where she lived for 23 years before moving to Florida for two years and finally returning to Whitley County.
Allen Fugate, 86, of Washington Township, died at 9:30 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 25, 2012, at his home. He was born Oct. 8, 1926, in Jackson, Breathitt County, Kentucky a son of George and Karsan (Miller) Fugate.
His formative years were spent in Kentucky where he completed his education.
During World War II, he served in the U.S. Army. On April 6, 1947, he was united in marriage to Clara Ellen Hawn. They always made their home on the same farm in Washington Township. Mrs. Fugate died Jan. 28, 2010.
