Georgia Reeg, 96

Georgia Louise (Menzie) Reeg, 96, passed away peacefully at 11:55 a.m. Friday, Nov. 21, 2014, with her loving family surrounding her.
She was born the daughter of Charles J. and Mary B. (Gawthrop) Menzie in Washington Township, near Pierceton, in Kosciusko County.
Georgia grew up on Twin Pines Farms, the Menzie family homestead, in Kosciusko County, which was in the family for more than 100 years. She attended Pierceton Schools, graduating as Salutatorian from Pierceton High School with the Class of 1935.

Kevin Joel Minnix, 48, of Columbia City, died Tuesday evening, Nov. 18, 2014.
He was born April 5, 1966 in Columbia City, a son of Mendell and Irma Sue (Lovely) Minnix.
He made his home in Columbia City with the exception of 1980 to 1985, when he was in Cleveland, OH.
He was employed at C&H Concrete, Kilgore Manufacturing and Corporate Construction.

Abigail Delaney

Abigail Sukie Kim Delaney, beloved daughter of Sr. Airman William and Sonya Hye-Min (Kim) Delaney, was stillborn Oct. 28, 2014 in Suwon, Gyonggi-do, South Korea.
Abigail is survived by her parents of Columbia City; grandparents, Thomas Delaney and Kelly Davenport of Columbia City and Kim Jong-Goo and Lee Sook-Hee of Gumi, North Gyeongsang, South Korea and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
A private family service will be held in December.

Ervin Geiger, 93

Ervin D. Geiger, 93, of rural Albion, formerly of Columbia City, died at 8:45 p.m. Friday, Nov. 14, 2014 at his home.
He was born Sept. 28, 1921 in Whitley County a son of Forrest and Hazel (Pippenger) Geiger.
On April 9, 1942 he was united in marriage to Francis Ruth Jackson. Mrs. Geiger died Oct. 29, 2009.

William Sizemore, 58

William B. Sizemore, 58, a former resident of South Whitley, passed away at 5:30 a.m. Monday, Nov. 17, 2014.
William “Wills” was born in Prestonsburg, Kent. on Dec. 31, 1955, a son of Henry and Bess (Hubbard) Sizemore. His formative years were spent in South Whitley.
He is survived by his sisters, Arie Sue Mann, Louise Rodman, Henrietta Leonard, Blanche Kilander and Dora Gable.
He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Juanita Castle, brother Jim Sizemore, brother-in-law Mike Kilander; 11 nieces and nephews and several great nieces and nephews.

Dora Belle Carroll, 96, a former resident of South Whitley, died 4:50 a.m. Tuesday Nov. 18, 2014 at The Oaks where she had resided since Oct. 2013.
She was born April 7, 1918 in Whitley County, a daughter of Christian John Lewis Dreyer and Sylvia Belle (Arnett) Dreyer. She spent her formative years in Washington Township where she graduated from Washington Center High School. She earned her bachelor’s degree from Manchester College and master’s in teaching from University of St. Francis, Fort Wayne.

Donald Lewis, 99

Donald F. Lewis, 99, of Columbia City, died at 2:55 p.m. Monday, Nov. 17, 2014 at Parkview Regional Medical Center where he was admitted on Tuesday.
He was born April 12, 1915 in Clarence, Ill., a son of the late Freeman and Rose (Lewis) Lewis. His formative years were spent in Illinois. He graduated from Paxton High School, Paxton, Ill.
On Aug. 3, 1936 he was united in marriage to Edith P. Rollins, who died Dec. 21, 2006.
He enjoyed fishing, woodworking and spending time with his grandchildren. He was a member of Trinity Evangelical Presbyterian Church.

Sharon Reid, 64

Sharon Kay Reid, 64, passed away Sunday, Nov. 16, 2014 in Fort Wayne.
She was born Feb. 4, 1950 in Huntington. She was married to husband Terry Reid of Columbia City. Sharons parents are Earl and Tura (Forst) Poehler.
A funeral service will be held at a later date and no calling.

Jeanette Myers, 85

Jeanette A. Myers, 85, a resident of Columbia City, passed away at 2:30 a.m. Monday, Nov. 17, 2014 at her home. She had been in failing health.
She was born Sept. 10, 1929 in Whitley County, a daughter of Earl and Nellie (Black) Chapman. Her formative years were spent in Thorncreek Township. She graduated from Columbia City High School in 1947.
On August 5, 1950 she was united in marriage to James H. Myers. They made their home in Columbia City, Oklahoma, Huntington and Gary before returning to Columbia City in 1957. James died Aug. 12, 2000.
