Marvin Craig, 85

Marvin R. Craig, 85, of rural Columbia City, died at 9:07 a.m. Monday, Sept. 15, 2014 at Miller’s Merry Manor.
He was born May 12, 1929, in Fort Wayne, a son of Ward F. and Arlene (Otis) Craig. He completed his education at Central High School.
On Nov. 22, 1958, he married Leola J. Yeager. They made their home in Fort Wayne and later Leo, moving to their present home in 1983.

COLUMBIA CITY — Twin brothers Lucas (left) and James Eppelmann enjoy Saturday night’s Movie on the Square at the Whitley County Courthouse. A crowd gathered to watch “Up,” an animated film, which was shown on the Courthouse lawn. The free event was sponsored by the Columbia City Main Street Association and included helium balloons and popcorn.

AKRON — Columbia City’s boys and girls cross country teams posted strong placings in the Tippecanoe Valley Invitational Saturday morning in Akron.

The Lady Eagles placed second out of 12 teams, just four points behind the winning team, Northfield.

NEW HAVEN — Columbia City’s girls golf team finished out its final Northeast Hoosier Conference competition with a strong, second-place finish at Whispering Creek Golf Course in New Haven Saturday.

With a four-way tie for first place for the conference title coming into the match, the Lady Eagles finished behind Carroll and Homestead to place third in the match and second overall.
